After 2 years, the yatra to the abode of Lord Shiva, Adi Kailash, is resuming now. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the yatra was closed for pilgrims, but the wait of devotees is finally over. On Monday, Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN), the nodal agency for tourism activities in the Kumaon region, announced that the first pilgrim team would leave for Dharchula (Pithoragarh) from Bhimtal (Nainital). About 700 registrations have already been done for the yatra, it added. The yatra comes in the wake of the construction of a highway near the Indo-Tibet border in Uttarakhand, which is expected to be completed by the end of next year.

आदि कैलाश यात्रा पहली बार पूरी तरह से सड़क मार्ग से होने जा रही है। कोविड प्रकोप के कारण कैलाश पर्वत की तीर्थयात्रा बंद है, और यह कब फिर से शुरू होगी इसकी तारीखें स्पष्ट नहीं हैं, इसलिए आदि कैलाश यात्रा का दौरा किया जा सकता है|

आदि कैलाश पर भी भोले बाबा का निवास रहा है और पास ही स्थित पार्वती सरोवर में माता पार्वती का स्नान स्थल्र हुआ करता था। साक्षात शिव का प्रतीक अपने मस्तक पर सुशोभित किया हुए ऊँ पर्वत कुल 3 देशों की सीमाओं से लगा हुआ है। इस स्थान के धार्मिक एवं पौराणिक महत्व का वर्णन महाभारत, रामायण व वृहत पुराण जैसे ग्रंथों में मिलता है।यात्रा भीमताल, नीम करोली बाबा के आश्रम कैंची धाम, चितई गोल मंदिर, पौराणिक से मंदिरों का समूह जागेश्वर धाम, पार्वती मुकुट, ब्रह्मा पर्वत, शेषनाग पर्वत, शिव मंदिर, पार्वती सरोवर, गौरीकुंड , पाताल भुवनेश्वर महाभारत काल के बहुत से स्थानों जैसे पांडव किला, कुंती पर्वत, पांडव पर्वत व वेदव्यास गुफा से होकर गुजरती है|

कुमाऊँ मंडल विकास निगम एवं ट्रिप टू टेंपल्स की सहायता से चल रही आदि कैलाश यात्रा का तृतीय दल का पर्यटक आवास गृह चौकड़ी में जोरदार स्वागत हुआ। कुमाऊं मंडल विकास निगम कर्मचारियों के साथ-साथ राजकीय पूर्व माध्यमिक विद्यालय बरसात के नन्हे-मुन्ने छात्रों द्वारा टीका एवं माला पहनाकर भव्य स्वागत किया।

कोरोना के बाद शुरू हुई यात्रा को लेकर श्रद्धालुओं में खासा उत्साह है और यात्री बाबा भोलेनाथ के दर्शन के लिए खासा उत्साहित हैं| कैलाश मानसरोवर की जगह कुमाऊं से शुरू हुई आदि कैलाश यात्रा, पहले जत्थे में 15 पुरुष और 15 महिलाएं|

कुमाऊं मंडल विकास निगम ने इस बार यात्रा के लिए परिवहन व प्रचार प्रसार समेत पंजीकरण के लिए प्रसिद्ध ट्रेवल्स कंपनी ट्रिप टू टेम्पल्स के साथ करार किया है। यह संस्था नेपाल के रास्ते कैलास मानसरोवर यात्रा का आयोजन करती है। जो इस बार पहली जुलाई से प्रस्तावित है। सड़क मार्ग से प्रति श्रद्धालु डेढ़ लाख जबकि हवाई मार्ग से एक लाख 90 हजार है। इस बार करीब चार हजार श्रद्धालु कैलाश मानसरोवर जाएंगे।

काठगोदाम के बजाय इस बार भीमताल में जत्थे का स्वागत हुआ। तीन साल बाद एक बार फिर आदि कैलाश यात्रा शुरू होने जा रही है। एक जून को यात्री आदि कैलाश के लिए रवाना होंगे। भीमताल में कुमाऊं मंडल विकास निगम के टीआरसी में तीन साल बाद मंगलवार की सुबह आदि कैलाश यात्रा का पहला दल दिल्ली से भीमताल पहुंचा। यहां उनका छोलिया नृत्य और कुमाऊंनी परिधान में महिलाएं तिलक लगाकर स्वागत किया।

आदि कैलाशऔर ओम पर्वत यात्रा सिर्फ दो स्थानों की यात्रा नहीं है बल्कि अपने आप में अनेक धार्मिक तीर्थों को समेटे है। सड़क न होने के कारण आदि कैलाश जाने वाले यात्रियों को लगभग दो सौ किलोमीटर पैदल (आना-जाना) चलना होता था, लेकिन अब भोलेनाथ के भक्तों की राह आसान होगी। 

आदि कैलाश यात्रा वाहन द्वारा कराए जाने की योजना की जा रही है। इस यात्रा को ज़्यादा से ज़्यादा लोगों तक पहुंचाने एवं सह – संचालन के लिए कुमाऊँ मंडल विकास निगम ने नॉएडा की संस्था डिवाईन मन्त्रा प्राइवेट लिमिटेड (ट्रिप टू टेंपल्स) के साथ अनुबंध किया है। करोना काल के बाद यह साल भोले बाबा के भक्तों के लिए शुभ समाचार लेकर आया है।
