Ramayana Circuit Tour Packages
The Ramayana circuit is a scheme run under the Ministry of Tourism’s Swadesh Darshan Scheme. The Ramayana Circuit is among the 15 tourist circuits under the Swadesh Darshan scheme. Spanning nearly 8,000 kilometers, this spiritual expedition covers multiple Indian states and extends into Janakpur, Nepal, the birthplace of Mata Sita. As one of the 15 thematic circuits under the scheme, the Ramayana Circuit is not merely a tour, it is a yatra that reconnects pilgrims with the timeless values of dharma, devotion, and righteousness as portrayed in the Ramayana text and would be covered in an 18–20 day tour.
This yatra includes revered destinations like Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama; Chitrakoot, where he spent part of his exile; Nandigram, where Bharat ruled in his brother’s name; and Rameshwaram, where the Ram-Setu bridge to Lanka was constructed. Other significant places include Sitamarhi, Buxar, and Darbhanga in Bihar; Mahendragiri in Odisha; Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh; Bhadrachalam in Telangana; Hampi in Karnataka; and Nashik and Nagpur in Maharashtra. Janakpur, where Lord Rama wed Sita, adds a deeply emotional and cross-border spiritual connection, symbolizing unity and divine love.
Each destination carries profound mythological and spiritual significance, bringing the Ramayana’s sacred verses to life with temples, stories, rituals, and sacred sites. What makes the Ramayana Circuit truly special is its ability to inspire and awaken. It is not just about visiting temples, it is about living the epic, feeling its resonance, and allowing its timeless message to transform one's spirit.
