Kailash Mansarovar Yatra FAQs

Towels and other toiletries are not provided in the washrooms on the entire Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, except for Lucknow and Kathmandu. You need to bring your toiletries and towels for personal use, which is specifically mentioned in the complete list of things to carry for Kailash Yatra.

Water is available in the attached washrooms of the hotel rooms. However, one has to carry water (from the water facility nearby) to the common washrooms in dormitory stays of the Kailash Yatra. 

Mixed accommodation facilities will be provided during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, consisting tourist guesthouse on multiple sharing near Mansarovar Lake, a hotel on triple sharing at Darchen, dormitory on multiple sharing during the Mount Kailash parikrama at Dhirapuk and Zuthulphuk.

We ensure to provide a separate bed, blanket, and pillow to each of its yatris at all accommodation points throughout the Kailash Yatra.

We ensure to provide the best available stay options to our yatris around Lake Mansarovar and the Mount Kailash region during their yatra. On Kailash Yatra by helicopter (10 N/11 D), hotel accommodation (deluxe/ 4-star) is provided for 5 to 6 days at the following destinations- Lucknow/ Kathmandu (2 nights), Nepalgunj (1 night), Purang Town (2-3 nights), and Darchen (1 night).  The Kailash Yatra by overland route (by bus) goes upto 13 nights and 14 days, out of which hotel and dormitory kind of accommodation (3-star) is provided for 9 to 10 days at the following destinations- Kathmandu (3 nights), Nyalam/ Kyirong (2-3 nights), Dongba/ Saga (2 nights), and Darchen (1 night).

The number of people sharing a room totally depends on the size of the group. However, the number of yatris accommodating a room on their Kailash Yatra varies between twin/triple/multi sharing. Due to the limited availability of infrastructure on the Kailash Yatra route, individual room is generally not provided to the pilgrims. But, based on the availability, you can get an individual room at extra charges in Lucknow and Kathmandu only.

You will get a tourist guest house facility at multiple sharing in Simikot and Hilsa. However separate beds, blankets and pillows will be provided to all yatris.

Nonetheless, basic but proper infrastructure is available throughout the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra routes. Accommodation facilities such as hotels, guesthouses, and dormitories are available, so you do not have to stay in tents or camps.

Due to limited availability of infrastructure, basic accommodation facilities are available in Tibet. It is only during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra times, i.e., from May to September, that hotels there are operational. But the rest of the time, it is closed because residents of the region are incapable of bearing the maintenance expenses cannot be borne.

Hotel stay is provided in Lucknow/Kathmandu (2 nights), Nepalgunj (1 night), Purang Town (2-3 nights), and Darchen (1 night) in the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra by helicopter route.
And in the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via the overland route, accommodation is arranged in Kathmandu (3 nights), Nyalam/ Kyirong (2-3 nights), Dongba/ Saga (2 nights), and Darchen (1 night).

Laundry facility is not available in hotels during the Kailash Yatra. Since we stay only for a single night at each accommodation point of the entire yatra, there is limited time to keep facilitated with high-end hospitality services other than the basic lodging and food.

Rooms are allocated on a twin and triple sharing basis in Lucknow and Nepalganj (Kailash Yatra by helicopter) and Kathmandu (overland Kailash Yatra). At the remaining spots, wherever hotels are mentioned, it'll be arranged by default on triple-sharing dormitories or guest houses. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has limited infrastructure, so it is advised to come with an open mind to adjust according to the facilities available there.
