Let your quest for Divinity end at Adi Kailash & Om Parvat

The yatra opens in June and ends in October

Lord Shiva has five homes - Kailash Mansarovar, Adi Kailash, Kinnaur Kailash, Shrikant Mahadev Kailash and Manimahesh Kailash – which are sacred for Hindus. Kailash Mansarovar is said to be the first home where Lord Shiva resides with him family. But the arduous, physically challenged and expensive yatra makes it difficult for everyone visit and have a glimpse of this abode. As per Hindu scriptures the Adi Kailash and Om mountains are considered equivalent and sacred to mountain Kailash.

Till last year Adi Kailash was accessible only through walking trek, but from this year onwards it has a motorable road access. The devotees who want to undertake some journey by foot have a choice to trek the last 3 km to the destination.

How to undertake Adi Kailash Journey?

Adi Kailash yatra will start from month of June and will continue till October. A devotee has to register with a tour operator (https://www.triptotemples.com/package/adi-kailash) to undertake the journey and chose a date among the dates available. The trip bookings need to be done atleast a month prior because it involves police clearance certificate in absence of passport, a medical certificate applicable for a month and inland permits.

To undertake the journey, you must be in the age group of 9 to 77 years. You can take a flight or travel by train or road to Kathgodam/Haldwani and from there Trip to Temples will take over the journey and all arrangements for you.

What is the route for the Adi Kailash Yatra circuit?

The religious circuit includes journey from Kathgodam and will cover 18 places which includes Adi Kailash, Om Parvat, Parvati Mukut, Brahma Parvat, SheshnagParvat, Shiva Temple, Parvati Sarovar, Gaurikund, Patal Bhubaneshwar Pandava Fort, Kunti Parvat, PandavaParvat and Veda Vyas Cave. The Trip to Temples (For details contact: https://www.triptotemples.com/package/adi-kailash) provides its customers a gamut of options to choose from and can also tailor-made the itinerary in case the number of travellers is 5 and more. The popular packages of Trip to Temples are Package-I Adi Kailash and Om Parvat from Delhi (7N/8D), Package-II Adi Kailash and Om Parvat from Kathgodam (7N/8D) and Package-III Adi Kailash and Om Parvat from Dharchula (4N/5D).

Is it safe to travel in mountains during rainy season?

The Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN), the government authority overseeing the yatra, has been undertaking and leading the yatra independently since it started. This year, the authority decided to partner with a travel firm to ensure safe and comfortable travel for the devotees. As per the KMVN and Trip to Temples agreement, the KMVN will be providing its rest houses, kitchen services exclusively to the pilgrims from Trip to Temples (For details: https://www.triptotemples.com/package/adi-kailash). They will also provide backup in case of any mishaps during the journey to the travellers. Trip to Temples will ensure the logistics comfort and provide divine experience at the holy sites by performance of puja and hawan by special priests/pandits on demand.

Other tour operators are cheap then why Trip to Temples?

Most of the operators that will be organising the yatra this year will be first timers. Many companies who are accepting registrations for Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra, don’t have planning for stay and food. You must know where and what type of stay they are going to provide. Many are accepting bookings and will try to put tents where they get space, while those travelling with Trip to Temples/Divine Tours will stay at the KMVN rest houses which have kitchen and all facilities required for comfortable stay. These include hot water, spacious and hygienic rooms, facilities like TV and internet to name a few.

After Dharchula, where Bolero is used, Trip to Temples will be using one Bolero for 4-5 persons whereas many companies fill 8-10 persons in a single Bolero. Remember that sitting in back seats (Trip to Temples use it for luggage) is extremely discomfortable on that road. The Trip to Temples also provides a cancellation policy and replacement from customer without any cost up to 15 days of Yatra date with complete documents. The Trip to Temples package comes with additional facilities like travel insurance, recreational activity in evenings/night, certified guides and a walkie talkie service with each group sourced by KMVN that would enable quick rescue operations in case of emergency.
