Kerala Divya Desham Tour
Out of 108 Divya Deshams, Kerala has 13 of them. The Anantha Pandmanabha Swamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, has an 18-foot-long idol of the lord in 'Anantha Shayan' pose, covered with gold, known to be his celestial sleeping pose, in which he dreams of the universe into coexistence. The temple has a construction in the Dravidian style. He is also considered a custodial God to the Royal Family of Travancore. The idol of Padmanabha Swamy is made out of 12 thousand shaligrams.
Shri Vallabha Temple, which is another on the list of 108 Divya Deshams, located on the banks of Maniamala river is a 400 year old temple with an idol of 8t of ShrI Vallabha. The temple also has a Garuda Stambha of 54 ft long Flag pole made out of single block of granaite. The temple organizes a Kathakali performace ritual every evening as an offering to God.
Aranmalay Parthasarthy Temple counted in 108 Divya Desham, is dedicated to Krishna as the Arjuna's Charioteer (Parthasarthy). It is located on the banks of Pamba. The region is also famous for the reknowned Vallamkali -Boat race. Located in the Chengannur area of Kerala, this site is recognized as one of the five ancient shrines linked to the Mahabharata narrative. It is believed that each of the five Pandavas established a temple here: Yudhishthira built the Thrichittatt Maha Vishnu Temple, Bheema constructed the Puliyur Mahavishnu Temple, Arjuna is associated with the Aranmula Temple, Nakula with the Thiruvanvandoor Mahavishnu Temple, and Sahadeva with the Thrikodithanam Mahavishnu Temple.

One of the 108 Divya Deshams, Thirumittakode Anchumoorthi Temple, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu as well as Lord Shiva. The word Anchumoorthi translates to 5 deities. Lord Vishnu is worshipped here as Abhaya Pradhan or Uyyavantha Perumal along with his wife Goddess Laxmi as Padmasini. As per the legends, Goddess Lakshmi and Gajendra, the elephant king, were both devotedly worshipping Vishnu with lotus flowers. When Lakshmi had used all her lotus flowers in her worship, Gajendra found himself without offerings to present to the Lord. In his moment of need, he offered a heartfelt prayer. Vishnu, touched by the devotion displayed by both, chose to have Lakshmi remain with him and bestowed upon Gajendra the entire lotus garden.
