  • Get A Health Check-Up Done

We recommend you get a health checkup done before booking the Yatra. Situated at an elevation of 6638 m, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a high-altitude journey that demands great physical fitness. Travellers going via the Ministry Of External Affairs route will need to take up a paid medical check. The ones going via a travel agency must submit a medical fitness certificate issued by a physician with a letterhead.

  • Carry The Basic Medicines

The Kailash Mansarovar is surrounded by a rugged terrain and rocky landscape. The mountain is located in a remote region with no local markets nearby. It is advisable to carry the basic medications for headache, fever, dehydration, and body aches. It is the basic Kailash Mansarovar requirements. If there’s an ongoing medication, carry those as well. Altitude sickness is commonly experienced by travellers upon reaching Kailash Mansarovar.

  • Drink Lukewarm Water

The climate at the Kailash Mansarovar remains cold and harsh. Drinking cold water may cause cough, cold and gut-related issues. Therefore, the lukewarm water keeps you warm during the yatra. 

  • Pack Easy-To-Carry Clothes

The Kailash Mansarovar yatra is a high-altitude yatra and the weather remains cold and weather. We recommend you pack layered and warm clothing so that the frosty air does not make you fall sick.

  • Pack A Good Pair Of Socks:

Pack good-quality shoes so that trekking remains easy. Carry at least 4 to 5 pairs each of woollen and cotton socks. Choose waterproof shoes which are sturdy and may not break easily. 

  • Eat Light And Nutritious Meals:

Do not eat any junk food during the yatra. Eating heavy meals and oily food can make travelling. Carry high-energy snacks and foods—dry fruits, raisins, nuts and fruits. 

  • Walk Steady While Trekking

The route remains quite rocky and rugged, so it is advisable to walk slowly. Walking too fast can cause breathlessness and dizziness. 

  • Stay Hydrated 

It is important to stay hydrated throughout the yatra. The yatra includes multi-day long-distance treks and the weather usually remains harsh and cold. We suggest you drink lukewarm water and keep yourself hydrated throughout the journey.
